GAZDOVSKÝ DVOR – First contact spotGPS: 49°10’55.87″N 18°51’48.56″EOn the occasion of the Váh unlocking ceremony, Farmstead house has been inaugurated to enlarge the offer of the First Rafting Company for the season 2006. Farmstead house is the first-contact place, furnished in traditional style, offering refreshments to its visitors. Permanent service ensures:

  • Transport to the starting point of the trip: Barierová
  • Seating space for 40 people in a typical atmosphere
  • Traditional refreshments
  • Sale of souvenirs
  • Information on possibilities for spending time in Strečno and its surroundings
  • Contact with services providers
  • Information on transport schedules, tourist offer and complementary program in the region
Beginning of the trip

The trip starts in Barierová (GPS: 49° 9’37.31″N 18°53’9.45″E), the rafts port. The coach parking close to the port is situated on the main road n° 18/E 50, 7 km from Strečno (in the direction of Martin), on the left side, after the second railway tunnel. If coming from Martin, the port will be on your right side, around 1.2 km after the border between Martin county and Žilina county.

Transport

The transport of individual tourists to the port is ensured by a First Rafting Company minibus. The coach groups arrive directly at the parking area close to the port, following an agreement with FRC. The port Barierová is 150m down from the parking area.
